BEBE PHAM, also known as Pham Thi Thuy, is Vietnam’s Top Model.
Her modeling career began at the age of 19, when she frequented an informal gathering of modeling hopefuls near her home. Together they learned the fundamentals of modeling, and although this did not give Bebe her big break, it taught her the basics.
That same year Bebe moved to Saigon to pursue a modeling career. Upon her arrival she was immediately recruited by LYDAC, a French modeling agency that had opened in Vietnam. Upon LYDAC’s closure, Bebe was signed immediately to Vietnam’s premiere modeling agency, PL Agency.
In 2005, Bebe entered the Vietnam Supermodel pageant and consistently won third in the regional and the national competitions.
With an accounting degree from Lac Hong University in Vietnam, this fine-looking and mysterious Vietnamese is not just about good looks and fashion. At the insistence of her Father, it was advised that ‘a woman must have a solid and stable foundation before she explores the outside world.’ The offspring of a businessman, Bebe is a businesswoman herself, running her own furniture import business in Vietnam.
And explore the world she did. Bebe has traveled to various countries around the globe and has appeared on the covers of both Vietnamese and International magazines.
Bebe’s dazzling photographs have graced international print ad campaigns for a number of heavyweight brands including Reebok, Caravan Hotel, Remy Martin and Fashion TV. Bebe appeared in the 2007 Nautical Angels Underwater Calendar, a collection of beautiful underwater photos by filmmaker and photographer Mick Gleissner.
Bebe continuously works hard to progress in modeling due to her belief that professionalism, personality, determination and focus are major factors in achieving her goals. She takes great interest in the arts – specifically cinema – and this interest lead Bebe to try her hand at acting.
The term, ‘Model-turned-actress’ is seen as cliche in the industry, so rather than rely upon her established career in modeling to instantly set up her acting career, Bebe has chosen the road less traveled. She began by studying acting and filmmaking at the International Academy of Film and Television.
Bebe will be seen in the international dual-language film produced by Bigfoot Entertainment – Irreversi/Hui Lu – shot back-to-back in English and Mandarin. In 2006, Bebe filmed the action thriller Deep Gold, where she played the lead role of Amy..
Quoting Bebe: “My dream before was modeling, I focused and worked everyday in the last years but I found out that it can be limiting, acting is so much better, as I am able to show emotions and the long term possibilities are endless.”
